I’ve had my Hobart welder for a little while now, it’s been solid for what I use it for around the garage. It starts up every time, which is kind of the main thing you want, isn’t it? I wouldn’t say it’s absolutely perfect, the leads could definitely feel a little nicer, but for regular home projects, it’s been reliable and hasn’t given me much to complain about.

I picked this up because it said it could handle thicker material, but my experience was hit or miss. On thinner stuff, it seems like it might be okay, but once I tried it on 1/4 inch plate, it really started to struggle. I had to slow way down, and even then the welds came out rough and didn’t feel very strong. For light jobs it may do the trick, but it wasn’t up to what I needed, so I was disappointed

I was just trying to find a few parts, nothing complicated, but the site made it way harder than it should’ve been. The menus kept sending me in circles, and it felt like such a basic thing was being ignored. I ended up wasting way too much time just trying to get to the right page

I bought a Hobart welder thinking it would have solid power, but mine just hasn’t really kept up. Am I the only one who expected a Hobart welder to be way more trouble-free than this? I bought it thinking it would be solid, but the wire feed has been driving me nuts. It slips, feeds unevenly, and then I end up dealing with burn back or a bird nest. I’ve messed with the tension and swapped tips, but it’s still doing the same thing. What should be quick little jobs end up taking forever. For what it cost, I’m disappointed.

I tried using the manuals on Hobart and ended up more confused than when I started. The steps feel scattered, some of the terms aren’t explained, and I had to spend way too much time digging around just to find the info I needed. It literally made a simple task feel frustrating.

I couldn’t get a steady arc going at all. It kept jumping around, and I felt kind of left in the dark trying to figure out what was wrong or how to fix it.

The welder itself works fine, so this wasn’t a complete disaster or anything. But for the money, I expected a smoother experience and better communication. I’m not sure I’d order direct from them again

I’ve messed with the settings a handful of times, maybe 5 or 6 different tweaks, and some beads still come out rougher than I expected. For the price, I was hoping it would be a little more dialed in right out of the box.

It’s not a bad welder at all, but emotionally it just left me feeling like I didn’t get the value I expected. Looking back, I probably should’ve slowed down and compared a few more options before buying.

This thing feels really solid and has already handled plenty of bumps around my shop without any issues. A few parts are a little bulkier than I expected, and it’s definitely not the lightest, but overall I’m happy with it. Small win for me: I didn’t have to baby it at all, which makes getting through projects a lot less stressful.

I ordered a welder and feel kind of stupid for trusting the shipping estimate they gave me. It took way longer than it was supposed to, and the tracking barely updated the whole time, so I had no idea what was going on. When I reached out to customer service, they basically just told me to wait, which wasn’t helpful at all. The box finally showed up beat up, but luckily the welder itself seems okay. The product seems fine so far, but the whole delivery experience was really frustrating

I’ve found it easy to move around when I need to. It’s portable enough for my use, and overall I’m happy with it.

I usually go to hobartwelders.com for the basic consumables like tips, nozzles, wire, and smaller parts. Nothing too complicated, just the stuff you expect to need if you’re welding regularly. Most of the time, it’s in stock and easy enough to find without digging around forever.

I did run into one backordered item once, so obviously it’s not perfect, but it came back fairly quickly. Prices seem reasonable, checkout was simple, and overall it does what it should. I’d give it 4 stars.
